First impala kill for Vicky van Zyl using a 40-pound Browning bow with a 100-grain Thunderhead broadhead on a Radial X Weave STL Hunter arrow. With her in the picture, taken near Francistown in Botswana, is her son Tertius.
This fine 11 1/4-inch warthog was hunted in the Tuli Block in Botswana by Terence Grobler. The shot was from a distance of 20 yards using a Mathews Switchback XT set at 65 pounds, a 525-grain Easton Full Metal Jacket arrow, and a Spitfire mechanical broadhead.
This 38-inch eland was shot by Paul Richter at Hennie van Standen’s game farm “Al om Fraai” in Ellisras. He used a BowTech Airborne, a Goldtip Big Game arrow, and a 100-grain Grim Reaper broadhead.

Moises D. Boza (right) from Spain visited South Africa last year and went bowhunting with Old Days Safaris and PH Bertus Guillaume. Moises bagged this beautiful eland at Mooikloof farm. The arrow cut the lungs just above the heart. The bull ran 15 metres before it died.
A very proud Donavan Edwards (11) with his first bow kill: a 27-inch blue wildebeest that he shot with his BowTech Diamond set at 40 pounds. He hunted from a pit blind from a distance of 14 metres and the arrow was tipped with a 100-grain Muzzy broadhead. The animal expired after 18 metres from a perfect heart shot. PH Martin Graaf accompanied Donavan at the Nyala game lodge.
Manie Nel (14) shot this warthog on his family’s farm from a distance of 30 yards. He used a Diamond Rapture set at 70 pounds, a Gold Tip Expedition hunter 5575 arrow and a Grim Reaper broadhead. This was his 11th bowkill.
André Botha hunted this eland bull with his 75-pound BowTech Allegiance on the Sagan game farm. The horns measured 327/8 inches.
Johan van Huyssteen shot this 155/8-inch bushbuck with a Mathews Switchback XT from a hide at 20 yards.
This duiker was Gary Sutton’s first kill with a bow. He hunted on Imvani Ranch in the Eastern Cape, using a Mathews Outback at 55 pounds from a distance of 20 metres.
Martin Graaff walk-and-stalked this 15-inch blesbuck ram in the Potchefstroom area. He used a BowTech Allegiance bow set at 70 pounds and an Easton Axis arrow tipped with a 125-grain Montec broadhead.
This warthog, just short of 10 inches, was shot by Kyne Edwards at Zazoe near Tolwe in Limpopo. The bow was a Hoyt Lazer Tech set at 70 pounds. This was a great brother-bonding experience for him and his brother Kolby.
A very happy Bernard Mostert shot this Limpopo bushbuck on his uncle’s farm with his BowTech Equalizer using a Goldtip arrow with a 100-grain Razorbak two-blade broadhead. The bushbuck expired within 15 yards.
On his first bow hunt, Abel Botha shot this red hartebeest cow at Bundu Adventure Safaris in the Groblersdal area. He used a BowTech Guardian set at 65 pounds, with a Carbon Express Rebel Hunter arrow tipped with a 125-grain Nitron broadhead. The shot was taken at 35 yards.
